These are some pics of a basement project we did. We did a whole lot more work than these pics protray. For starters we removed rough cut pine from the ceiling and had it milled into v-groove planks. We built “window seats” and installed a Braillian cherry winding staircase up to the house.

PROJECT COMPLETED 2-09
I was asked by Gloria to build a shelter for her billy goat. She needed to be able to isolate him from the females. We built a 12′x8′ shelter using 5×5 posts, 3/4″ pine board and baton siding. All the lumber was milled locally here in Chatham. There is a 5′ opening with a sliding door and an interior farm gate for nice weather containment. We also installed a 4′ interior wall so the goat could not “butt” down the siding. We worked by generator with the billy goat and his daytime pasture companion, an 8/mo old puppy watching our every move. Sometimes the puppy would “borrow” a tool or two but we would always get them back. No one on my crew got shocked by the electric fence more than twice, proving once again the superiority of our species.

This is a video from my phone, sorry for the poor quality. We were tasked with making the inside of the home pretty and this is kind of what we started with.

The end of the year is upon me and I find myself working on The Bland House.
Actually its not bland. Its this great farm house with two additions built around 1860. I think thats the year. From what I remember, I am the third crew to be working here.
Its my task to install the siding. The siding is coming from Jackie. 1×6 Pine, one side planed smooth. Of course, before you put on siding the trim boards should be up and before you put up the window trims you kind a gotta install the windows. So at times our progress has seemed a bit slow.
As of now we have nearly half the house newly sided and while we wait for new siding to be cut we will prep the rest of the house. what we are having to do is to reframe the windows to the size of the replacement window, and then custom build new sills and trim. when the re- framing is done we will be insulating and then installing r-4 foam panels. This foam has made siding installation interesting.
